Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and GrillWhat an awesome place! Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and Grill is a delight from the moment you enter the parking lot. Actually, you could take the Water Taxi to the restaurant, too, but that's a whole other story. Toby Keith has the perfect location in Oklahoma City for this fantastic bar and grill – right at the junction of I-40 and I-35 in the heart of Bricktown (downtown OKC).
When we went to visit, we were celebrating our oldest daughter's birthday. She loves country music and has two of Toby Keith's CD's, so when we realized "I Love This Bar and Grill" was going to be opening right around her birthday, we knew where we were having her birthday dinner. Even with seating of 450 people and over 12,000 square feet of space, Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill could not handle the HUGE crowd that gathered to see Oklahoma City's newest hangout. It took us 2 hours just to get seated, but it was SO worth it. They don't take reservations. You get seated in the order in which you arrive. We were surrounded by signed guitars, platinum records and some of the clothing that Toby wore in his videos. Well, actually we were also surrounded by flat screens showing videos, too. We could see where the VIP seating was – surrounded by windows and elevated above the bar facing the stage. I only wish Toby could have been there. Our food arrived hot and delicious. My husband could have ordered the "American Soldier's Special" as he's in the Air Force, but he opted for something a bit more spicy. I wish we'd had room for some of the homemade pies, but we were stuffed after our meal. Although we didn't order it, I've heard that the Chicken Fried Steak and Country Gravy recipe is Toby Keith's very own. It's all "down home cooking", so anything you order is certain to be good. In an article I read some time ago, the menu for the restaurant was reported to be approved by Toby Keith personally. I thought that was kind of interesting.
Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and Grill is not just a restaurant. It isn't just a bar. It's an adventure. It is not just for country music fans, either. Everyone will find something to enjoy about this dining experience. They open most days around 3:00pm and on Fridays and Saturdays, they open around 11:00am. The dress code, as you might imagine, is casual. After 10:00pm, children are not allowed in (you have to be over 21), so if you plan to dine and watch a band late into the night, you'll have to get a babysitter. Here is the address of Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and Grill: Toby Keiths I Love This Bar & Grill310 Johnny Bench DriveOklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104 (405) 231-0254 Officially, Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and Grill opened on June 22, 2005. They feature live bands during the week and also on weekends. I believe they also have a "house band" which plays regularly, too. While we were at the restaurant, we did not hear any live performances, but that was due to the fact that we weren't there late at night. With two children, we do not get out much late at night. Ha ha. To get to Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and Grill, you can take a Water Taxi ride. When you buy tickets for an event at the Ford Center, you can always eat at Toby Keith's restaurant afterward. Here's what we think of the Ford Center. Like the Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and Grill? Check out Frontier City or return to the home of OKC LIfe, your Oklahoma City Newspaper. |
