Sightseeing in Oklahoma City

So, you want to do some sightseeing in Oklahoma City. Well, you are in for a delightful treat. Oklahoma City has a LOT to offer. Whether you are interested in Art, History, Horticulture, Gymnastics, Government, Music, Rodeos and/or Horse Shows, Sports or Science, Oklahoma City has something for you.

Oklahoma City is the largest city in Oklahoma and ranks 30th in the nation. It is spread out over a large land area, too.

Many of the sights to see in Oklahoma City are in or near the downtown area, though, so that's nice.

In one afternoon, I walked from Bricktown to the Ford Center, the Cox Convention Center, Myriad Botanical Gardens, the Oklahoma City National Memorial, and the Oklahoma City Art Museum. Now, I didn't do anything more than take pictures on that occasion, but it will give you an idea of just how close many of the educational, entertaining and enjoyable destinations are in this city.

When you visit, you will learn about the strength of others and the hope that we all have for the future. This is a beautiful, wonderful place to visit.

Oklahoma City Omniplex

What a great place for kids…kids of all ages, in fact. The Oklahoma City Omniplex is one adventure after another. You can explore the galaxies, walk through the gardens, visit the galleries, experience hands-on learning activities and so much more.

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art, located in the heart of the downtown Arts District, has a variety of exhibitions, films, and school classes, in addition to amenities including the Museum Store and Museum Cafe. It is an enriching and awe-inspiring place to visit.

The Oklahoma City Zoo is a terrific place to go to, even if you do not have children. Borrow someone's kids if you think you need to have an excuse to go, but JUST GO. It's very well laid out with viewing areas that everyone can access and enjoy.

The National Cowboy Museum is a great place to visit. It is a family-centered museum with hands-on activities for children and grown-ups alike. The re-creation of an old western town was an amazing experience, too.

If you can imagine a nature-lover's paradise in the middle of a city, then you can imagine how extraordinary Myriad Gardens truly is. The lush greenery and flowers and the architectural allure of the buildings and structures just fit together to make this botanical park a MUST SEE on everyone's list.

The Orr Family has provided a wonderful place for children and adults to learn, have fun, and enjoy agriculture and animals in a beautiful natural setting.
