Orr Family Farm = Family FunIf you are in the mood for some family fun, the Orr Family Farm is the place to go. Our family has been to the Orr Family Farm several times. The first time was for my niece's 3rd birthday party. Although it was a little cool that day (early spring), the children didn't seem to notice. There was so much to see and do.
The young ladies who helped with the party did a great job and guided all of the guests throughout the party's activities. I'm not sure what they all enjoyed most, playing on the huge playground, riding the carousel, making a craft project or the cake and punch. It was all so well done. The Best of OKC
The second time we went was for another specialty of Orr Family Farm - a school field trip. Our youngest daughter was attending the Oakcrest Dayschol Program and all of the children went on a field trip to the farm (which is located in South Oklahoma City). We went in October, which was an awesome time to go as the pumpkin patch was open and the children were able to take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and pick out their own pumpkin. Those children had more fun that anyone should be allowed to have. They got to sit on a pony (which my daughter was not about to do), pet rabbits, a llama and a pig and then they rode the train around the farm. It was such an enjoyable experience.
The Orr Family goes to great lengths to ensure everyone has a great time. The Amaze'n MazeThe Orr Family Farm's Amaze'n Maze is one of only eight such mazes in the world. Guests can test their abilities against their friends or race against the clock in more than 4,900 square feet of winding, challenging fun. Guests receive a time-stamped "passport" card as they enter. They must collect four letter stamps -- M, A, Z, E -- as they proceed through the maze, and their passports are time-stamped again at the end of the challenge. The Animal BarnWhat Would a Farm be Without Animals? Horses, llamas, rabbits, goats, pigs and much more await each guest at Orr Family Farm. Guests can purchase feed for 25 cents and literally have the animals eating out of their hands. Or, turn the crank and watch the feed move up the elevator. The TrainThe Farm train makes a 25-minute one-mile trip around the farm, traveling along the dam of Hidden Lake, circling the beautiful Wedding Garden, going by the Race Training Track and down by two ponds with their sparkling fountains before returning to the Train Station. The Farm train includes a beautifully handcrafted oak-lined caboose that is accessible to the physically challenged. It is a 1/3 sized replica of the United States' first transcontinental locomotive, the famous Jupiter, the train will comfortably hold 75 children and adults. Hidden Lake (Fish Pond)This pond is stocked with bass, crappie and bluegill. Six and eight-pound bass have been caught there. Take 'em home! The fishing is free, but guests should bring their own fishing gear, bait and lures. (State law requires that anglers age 16 and over have valid fishing licenses.) Grand Prix Race TrackTest your racing skills. The Farm has added the three-lane Orr Grand Prix Race Track with pedal cars that test coordination, as well as the leg muscles. Orr Family Farm & RR, LLC
