Oklahoma City Outdoor Fun
If you are visiting Oklahoma City and want to have some fun outdoors, you will have many options from which to choose. Outdoor activities abound in this wonderful city.
Lakes, parks, river trails and more provide ample opportunities to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Oklahoma City is a great place for families and as you explore some of these delightful recreational spots, you'll soon agree that having fun outdoors in Oklahoma City is a treat that everyone can enjoy.
Our family visited several of the lakes surrounding Oklahoma City and always enjoyed the beautiful views as well as the wonderful weather. One of the things I like to do with my girls is take them to Stanley Draper Lake and "rock hop". There are several places along the lake where a lot of rocks are near the shore. We will put on old tennis shoes and walk (or hop) from rock to rock along the banks. It's a lot of fun and great exercise.
We have also gone to many of the parks around Oklahoma City, such as Earlywine Park and Will Rogers Park. It is so nice to be able to get outside and play frisbee or let the kids climb on the playground equipment. One of our "small groups" at church had our evening services at South Lakes Park on a Sunday night and it was very enjoyable. The kids had a blast and even the adults played some volleyball after we sang worship songs and had a devotional.

For Oklahoma City Outdoor Fun, try one or more of these Oklahoma City Parks
We have been to most every park in Oklahoma City. Earlywine is probably our favorite just because there is a lot of space and a lot for the children to do.
Oklahoma City has a great Zoological Park
Our family has been to quite a few zoos and this is one of the better ones. The cost isn't outrageous and the critters are kept in nice environments. I only wish it could all be in an air conditioned environment.
Have a great time at the Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park
This place is so popular. Give it a try. I am too old to do these stunts, but the younger folks have a blast here.
Visit one of Oklahoma City's beautiful Lakes
Our favorite is Draper Lake, but that is because it's close to our house and it was a great place to walk and hike around the shoreline.
Don't miss Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park
Have a great time outdoors while spending time with you family. You'll love the mood in the park and the opportunity to enjoy one of Oklahoma City's finest Parks
Take a hike on one of Oklahoma City River Trails
Get some exercise and enjoy the beautiful scenery. These trails are one of the best additions to OKC parks in a long time.
